My name is Joseph Denton. I have deep experience working and consulting for asset and wealth managers in a vast array of professional roles and projects. Music is my passion outside of work and I am a proud dog dad.

Global capital markets will continue to become more complex and esoteric overtime. I strive to bring operational simplicity to asset and wealth managers. My deep industry experience with asset and wealth managers plus diverse financial services clients has positioned me to be an industry leader that is dedicated to relentless operational excellence.
2. Music
Music is the most grounding artistic force in this world and the ultimate universal language. Since I was seven years old, I loved piano and was blessed to have a family that supported my journey of learning various musical instruments and genres; I am equipped and ready to instill a deep love of music in others through teaching and performance.
A brief overview of my professional journey…
Upon graduating from Duke University, I worked throughout the globe as a Rotational Associate with Capital Group (“CG”), which is headquartered in Los Angeles. I was able to see the inner-workings of the front, middle, and back offices at CG and had the privilege to trade equities for portfolio managers, standup their Government Affairs program for the APAC business, and provide a strategic framework for their brokerage research compensation system.
I realized during my three years at CG that, while I loved serving internal stakeholders and improving CG’s processes, I wanted to make an impact across the broader financial services industry. Accenture (“ACN”) then hired me to support their entire financial services offering. While at ACN, I worked with their regulatory compliance and risk function to provide the strategic blueprint for a Top 5 Retail and Investment Bank’s risks and controls inventory, joined their banking financial technology team to assist with broad post-deal technological and operational merger activities for a Top 10 Domestic Retail Bank, and had exposure to their various financial service products, strategic frameworks, and management systems. After ACN, I was fortunate enough to join the North America Asset & Wealth Management team at Alpha FMC. There, I led front-to-end strategic target operating model engagements, implemented a direct indexing solution, managed an investment compliance comprehensive current state assessment and overhaul of compliance rules, and assisted with a global order management and front and middle office systems migration. These projects were all completed for some of the largest asset and wealth managers globally.
Today, I am Director of Trade Operations at Thornburg Investment Management in Santa Fe, New Mexico. While supporting their scalability, I must refuse any consulting projects related to financial services. Additionally, all music-related activities can only be pro bono at this time.
